The Air Customs Intelligence Wing at Visakhapatnam Airport seized 55 kg of GOLD that's being smuggled in three flights which arrived on Sunday night and also in the early hours of Monday.
Sources say, The Gold was smuggled in the form of DVD Players and Microwave Ovens. All the three flights have come to Visakha from Kaula Lumpur and Malaysia.
Smuggling gold in the form of electronic items is something very rare to happen.
Customs Officials are yet to give detailed information to the Media on the issue.
Several Passengers who were allegedly involved in this operation has been taken into custody. Currently, They are being interrogated and media will be informed once the officials collect details about the source of the gold & the kingpin behind the secret operation.
