The Congress party in the Krishna district received another blow as the former secondary education minister K Parthasarthi and former Deputy Speaker B. Vedavyas, important leaders of Congress in Machilipatnam shifted their loyalties to YSR Congress (YSRCP) on Saturday.

The leaders took the decision after meeting YSRCP  chief Jagan at the latter's residence here Saturday. They joined the party in the presence of party chief, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Hyderabad.YS Jagan welcomed them by presenting him with a “kanduva” at the party office.

Speaking to reporters after joining the party Parthasarthi said that Jagan is the only leader who have the ability to rebuild the state. He also exaggerated  that YSRCP will come to power in both the states.

However, Congress sources said the crossing over of the ministers, over to YSRC would not have any impact on the Congress as he has not been very active for the past few years.

The YCP has reportedly promised party ticket for both the leaders. With these two desertions, the Congress now has only a few big names such as veteran leader  Devineni Nehru in Krishna.
