Telanganite is now DTCs First Woman Driver

Vankadarath Saritha, a native of Telangana, has created history by becoming the first woman to hit the roads of New Delhi as a DTC driver.

The 30-Year-Old used to drive Autorickshaws and BMWs earlier. She has undergone a training for a period of 28 days to become a DTC driver and got posted to Sarojini Nagar depot. She was given a day-time duty and will be covering the route in the central part of Delhi.

Couple of months ago, Delhi Government has given New Paper Advertisement inviting women who were willing to turn drivers. Out of 7 Applicants, Only Saritha was found medically fit and she was sent to DTC Training School.

Delhi Government believes Vankadarath Saritha's appointment will inspire other women to choose driving as a career option.
