Akshay Kumar shoots on a Sunday after 7 years
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 April 2013 5:44 PM GMTAs a general rule Akshay Kumar doesn't work on a Sunday, but he broke it to finish shooting of Milan Luthria's "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2".
Seven years ago the 45-year-old, also known as Khiladi Kumar, decided that he will not work on a Sunday and devote it to his family.
Last time Akshay worked on a Sunday was when he was shooting for Priyadarshan's "Bhagam Bhag" in 2006.
"Milan was not well, due to which the shoot was delayed for three days. So Akshay agreed to work on April 7 (Sunday) to make up for the lost time. Since this is the film's last schedule, the makers can't push it any further," said a source.
"The permission and availability of the shooting venue (at Ballard Estate in south Mumbai) is also a constraint," added the source.
Akshay and co-stars Imran Khan and Sonakshi Sinha started shooting at 7 a.m. on Sunday. They worked till the sun went down.
Confirming the news, Luthria said: "Yes, I have asked Akshay for a big favour (by making him work on a Sunday). But what we shot on April 7 is a interesting sequence. I haven't told him yet, but I need him to work next Sunday too."
The upcoming movie is a gangster romantic thriller, a sequel to 2010 hit "Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai".
It is being produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor and is scheduled for an Aug 8 release.
