Balachander is well known for introducing new faces to the film industry. He has introduced over 100 actors in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada languages and famous among them were Kamal Haasan,Prakash Raj and Rajinikanth.
Superstar Rajinikanth expressed his grief over death of his Guru and Rajini said he always treated him like his father and not just as his mentor.
"KB sir was not just my guru. He was my father as well. He treated me like his own son and not as an actor.He was like a god in human form and I feel lost in his absence," Rajinikanth said in
Balachander launched Rajinikanth in 1975 in a critically acclaimed Tamil film "Apoorva Raagangal".Balachandar known for Tleugu audience too.His most popular Telugu films include Maro Charitra, Bale Kodalu, Anthuleni Katha, Andamaina Anubhavan, Idi Katha Kaadu, Akali Rajyam, Bomma Borusa, Adavaalu Meeku Joharulu,Tholikodi Koosindi, Kokilamma, Rudraveena.His last movie in Telugu was Abaddham in which Uday Kiran played male lead.
