Sub-Inspector Daya Nayak, the Mumbai Police's best-known 'encounter' specialist, is the reported inspiration for Temper movie directed by Puri Jagannath with NTR in lead role.

As per reports in film nagar Temper seems to be an inspiration from Daya Nayak’s life. The reason for that are the dialogues shown in teasers such as ‘Idhi Daya Gaadi Dandayatra’ ‘Naa peru Daya, naaku lenidhe adhi’.

Not only Puri his Guru RGV also made film based on Daya. In 2004 RGV directed a film Ab Tak Chappan in Hindi based on Daya Nayak’s life and it was later remade in Telugu as Siddham

Earlier Puri made Golimaar and it also inspired by Dyaa Nayak life. One might be wonder how Puri doing two films with the same stroy,But this time Daya is only a name used in Temper but the rest is fiction. Director Puri Jagannadh along with Vamsi took the characterization of Daya and added fiction masala to it.

Mangalore-born Daya Nayak began life cleaning tables at 9 at Mumbai restaurants before joining the city police .He has the credit of killing more than 80 dreaded gangsters. He is currently posted in the Nagpur region.
