Borussia Dortmund started with a 4-0 win over Augsburg into the 2013-2014 season Saturday as new signing Aubameyang staged a memorable performance in his first match, reports Xinhua.
The Champions League finalists had some problems against dedicated Augsburg to overcome their well-positioned defence at the beginning. With 24 minutes into the game, Aubameyang scored his first goal when he headed home a Marcel Schmelzer cross.
The Gabon international doubled the lead from eleven metres (66th) to ensure silence at the outsold SGL Arena. The new arrival was not done as he added another goal to seal his hat-trick overcoming Augsburg goalkeeper Mohamed Amsif (79th).
Dortmund's top scorer Robert Lewandowski marked the final score when he converted an awarded foul play to make it 4-0 on the scoreboard four minutes before the final whistle.
Elsewhere, Hertha Berlin started with a surprising 6-1 triumph in the first division as Frankfurt were unable to put up resistance. Berlin's Adrian Ramos opened the scoring following a counter (18th). John Anthony Brooks doubled the lead (32nd) to see Frankfurt's Alexander Meier reducing the lead to 2-1 after a converted penalty four minutes later.
Sami Allagui scored a brace in the second half within two minutes to make it 4-1 in the 60th minute. Yet, Berlin continued their run on Frankfurt's goals as Ramos and Ronny extended the lead to 6-1.
Leverkusen started also with a win as they defeated Freiburg 3-1.
Hoffenheim shared points with Nuremberg after a two all draw.
Hannover wrapped up a victory at the Lower Saxony as they won 2-0 over nine men Wolfsburg and newly promoted Braunschweig lost their first match to Bremen 0-1.
