Venkatesh's family thriller 'Drushyam' collected a Worldwide share of Rs 23.75 crore by the end of its 24 days run at the ticket window. Adding the price earned through satellite (Rs 5.5 crore) and video rights (Rs 40 lakhs), The entire revenue of will be Rs 29.65 crore. In the final run, The film is expected to collect at least Rs 1 crore more taking the total to Rs 30 crore.
'Drushyam' costed the producer Rs 8 crore including prints and publicity. So, The theatrical share is thrice the amount invested on this remake.
Based on these statistics, The profit of 'Drushyam' will be over Rs 20 crore. Venky who did charge any remuneration prior to release, Producer D Suresh Babu, Distributors and Exhibitors have been enjoying the fruits of this success.
'Drushyam' marks a new beginning in Venkatesh's career. He will be attempting more concept-based films from now onwards.
