Once again we came up with a special report to educate our readers about the most memorable day of south Indian cinema.Today May 9 is one of the most memorable days in the film history of Telugu and Tamil cinema. Many unforgettable all time classics have released on this very day in the past.

The day has the credit of releasing all time classic Maro Charitra.The film which released 36(May 9 1978) years ago and created sensation across south .The romantic tragedy film written and directed by K. Balachander and It stars Kamal Haasan and Saritha in the lead with Madhavi and Sarath Babu appearing in prominent roles. The film deals with cross-cultural romance between a Tamil boy and a Telugu girl. Upon release, it became a "blockbuster" and remains a cult classic

Another sensational Kamal Haasan film Bhaarateeyudu too released on this day exactly 18 years ago making it a special day for the Kamal Haasan fans.The film showcased the talent of Director Shankar and he is currently hailing as top director in Kollywood.

Now let’s see what the special day offers for Telugu movie lovers.Two of unforgettable movies of Megastar Chiranjeevi Gang Leader and Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari released on the same day, 23 and 24 years ago respectively, making the date a historic one in his career as well. Gang Leader directed by Vijaya Bapineedu accomplished 100 days run in 55 theaters.JVAS directed by Raghavendra rao and the film had 100-day runs in a number of theaters and a 369-day run in one centre.

Apart from these two all films we also have an extremely popular Venkatesh film Preminchukundam Ra released on May 9 as well. Certainly a co-incidence but worth to talk about it…
