From a long time, Jr NTR is waiting to score a foot-thumping blockbuster and finally teamed up with dashing director Puri Jagan to create such magic. With super hype and extraordinary reports, “Temper” got a craze all over. Here goes about the flick.
The CONTENT
Inspector Daya (NTR) is fully corrupted and grows up only with the vision of earning money. He joins hands with smuggler Waltair Vamsi (Prakash Raj) and involves in more black activities. After he falls flat for Sanvi (Kajal), things change. When Sanvi faces a bad situation one day, our corrupt cop revolts on Daya. That sets things to volatile. What happens is rest of story.
The EFFORT :
On-Screen:
If a hero puts 200% efforts for a role that needs 100% dedication, we have NTR Jr on board. Exceptional body language, terrific dialogue timing and stunning new-wave dances are his core all the time and Puri Jagan explored, sorry, he exploited them like nothing else in this cop saga. Flaunting his sculpted body, he woes everyone this time with new mesmeric looks. From first frame to last frame, NTR’s one man show amazes. Pages and pages are not needed to talk about his acting prowess, as we know he is diamond already. Right kind of roles like this put such actors at their stunning best.
Kajal Agarwal serves the purpose of giving turns to story and then Puri sir explores her glamour quotient as usual. She is ultra glamorous in songs, with none of her contemporaries having such oomph quotient. Prakash Raj stuns as Waltair Vasu, but his antics are quite regular. Still, he amazes with his repetition of perverted Pokiri acts.
Comedian batch including JP, Ali, Sapthagiri and Posani provide comic relief quite well, but not to that hilarious extent.
Off-Screen:
Puri Jagan is of late picking up stories that could be explained in 15 minutes but dragging them to 2 hours. With “Temper”, he has finally picked someone else (Vamsi Vakkantam) story. Undoubtedly his directorial skills are at best. The way he induced a new mannerism to NTR, he extracted the best emotions out of him all the time are laudable. But his penchant to induce comedy is forced, and the way he deviated from main track till interval is little boring. He has to be appreciated for a neat screenplay that is fabricated with colourful songs.
Syam K Naidu’s cinematography is awesome. He made sure that every scene looks as elevated as possible with his marvellous lighting and different blocks (camera angles). Songs are visualised quite interestingly and that credit goes to him. Anup Rubens’ music for songs is average when CDs are released, but he rocked in theatres. Especially Temper title song and Choolenge Aasman song are peppy and foot-tapping in theatres. Art director Brahma Kadali’s work is good. Especially in couple of songs he made interesting themes. We have to appreciate bunch of choreographers who designed new steps for NTR.

BREAKDOWN:
Puri Jagan picked up a storyline narrated by Vakkantam Vamsi and camouflaged with his style of satirical yet philosophical dialogues. The way he throws punches on people, his dog philosophy and tackling love has once again showcased the so called ‘philosopher’ inside this director. With a gun like NTR, he fired it continuously, hitting target many times and missing rarely. He took the burning issue like rape and had his style of verdict delivered.
As usual we have a Puri Jagan mark kid who aspires to become a police. As SI Daya (NTR) enters Vizag, a fully corrupted cop aiming at increasing bank balance, there comes a villain in the form of Waltair Vasu (Prakash Raj). Both these duo joins hands. Who imagines an item-number will be first song of a star hero’s flick? Puri did it. Rather getting into story, movie slips into comedy mode with Ali taking centre stage. There also enters Shanvi (Kajal), a pet cross member, and Daya falls for her in first second. But the flow in first hour looks little dull. As Shanvi requests Daya to save a girl, Daya stands against Vasu and announces his Danda Yatra after a high octane action sequence. Intermission.
As first half is little slow, flares are expected to go up in second half. Minutes after starting his DandaYatra, Daya patches up with Vasu again. That’s the twist. Meanwhile, the colourful Choolenge Aasman song enthrals as NTR flaunts six pack and Kajal pours more glamour. Time for Daya to know about the girl (Madhurima) said by Shanvi. With another highly energetic song, Temper title song, movie gets into next act. As Daya finally regrets his mistakes, he turns into a sincere cop. As usual, hero’s elevation scenes are top notch in any Puri’s film. We will not know how time flies in second half. With Devuda song, Puri sets the mood perfectly. A preachy court climax scene seals the flick finally.
First half many not work big time, but second half of “Temper” really sets the game in Puri Jagan and NTR’s favour. It will not leave you a minute to think as Puri hits back to back with this racy scenes and dialogue. NTR's high voltage performance hits like a meteor falling from the sky. All in all, Temper is a feast for fans and surely this kind of commercial dosage leads to blockbuster kinda of success. Success comes naturally due to engaging content, but the height of collections depends on how B & C centre audiences patrons the flick.
