Plagiarism Case against Lingaa dismissed!
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Dec 2014 6:02 PM GMTAn aspiring director KR Ravi Rathinam filed a writ petition against the makers of 'Lingaa' in Madras High Court accusing them of plagiarism. He alleged that the script penned by him for a film titled 'Mullai Vanam 999' has been stolen and the same subject has been made into a feature film which was titled as 'Lingaa'.
In a counter affidavit, Rajinikanth clarified 'Lingaa' is a brand new script and its no way related to 'Mullai Vanam 999'. He also raised the point a script can be treated as a copycat version had if 12 consecutive scenes are one and the same.
On Wednesday, High Court Justice M Venugopal dismissed the writ petition and advised the petitioner to begin civil or criminal proceedings instead since the issue happens to be a private dispute.
'Lingaa' is all set for Worldwide release on December 12th on the eve of Rajinikanth's birthday.
