POOR Reviews - SUPERB Openings!

Suriya and Samantha starrer 'Sikindar' opened to poor reviews Today. Critics and Film Lovers have given thumbs down to the stylish flick due to ineffective screenplay, below par second half and length issues (2 hours 50 minutes). But, these negative aspects didn't stop 'Sikindar' from taking a flying start at the Box Office. Thanks to the highly positive pre-release buzz and the National holiday factor!
Trade Pundits say, 'Sikindar' collected a fantastic Rs 3 crore share on Day 1 in Andhra Pradesh and Nizam. It is also the biggest opener ever for dubbed film sans Rajinikanth.
Reportedly, Lagadapati Sreedhar acquired all the rights of 'Sikindar' for Rs 12 crore and sold out the theatrical rights for Rs 13 crore. Even after a superb opining, there is still uncertainty over 'Sikindar' becoming a safe venture for the buyers as the word of mouth has been very bad. On top of it, The straight Telugu flick 'Lovers' which released Today garnered better reviews and word-of-mouth. We will have to wait till the end of First Week to decide the actual Box Office status of the DON flick!
