Record win for Harish Rao
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 May 2014 10:16 AM GMTTRS candidate T. Harish Rao once again shows his dominance in Siddipet constituency. He won the Siddipet Assembly with a thumping majority of 93,334 votes over his nearest rival Kanuri Srinivas Goud of Congress. This is a record majority for any MLA Candidate in Telangana. With this he created a record by breaking not only his previous record but also that of his uncle K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s record of 44,476 votes.
Both the Congress and TDP candidates lost their deposits. During the 2004 by elections Harish recorded a majority of 24,829 votes over his rival Cheruku Mutyam Reddy of TDP
For starters, Harish has dethroned late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy's record win of 68,681 votes from Pulivendula in 2009 polls by overtaking it by nearly 30,000 votes. He himself stood a close second behind YSR with 64,667 vote majority in 2009.He might have offered with home ministry post this time.
