Sachin farewell match will be housefull!
By: Tupaki Desk | 12 Nov 2013 9:39 AM GMTMumbai Cricket Association's official ticketing partner KyaZoonga.com announced here Tuesday that all tickets available for sale for Sachin Tendulkar's farewell match have been sold out.
"All tickets made available for sale by the MCA for the 2nd India versus West Indies Test match, which is also Sachin Tendulkar's 200th and final test, have been sold out in approximately 15 hours since they went on sale," an official spokesperson said here Tuesday.
During this period, KyaZoonga.com received massive traffic and the demand remained unabated till the very end.
"The objective of the organizers to ensure wider reach was realized by the ensuring no person was allotted more than two tickets," the spokesperson added.
For the successful buyers among several millions who logged in, tickets will be available for pick-up later Tuesday from the Mumbai Hockey Asssociation counters, next to Wankhede Stadium after providing relevant validation documents as specified during the booking.
The others who were unsuccessful but payments were deducted from their accounts, the company will process the refunds which would come within 7-10 days.
Monday morning, when KyaZoonga.com opened up for ticket sales, it notched nearly 20 million hits within less than an hour, causing its servers to crash, disappointing millions of hopefuls.
The company had said that if the traffic volumes continued at these high levels, "it could perhaps surpass the momentum witnessed even during past Olympic Games".
