Star Hero on verge of losing Padma Shri
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 Aug 2014 8:06 AM GMTSC Agarwal, an RTI Activist, had recently filed a complaint with Union Home Ministry seeking it to take back the Padma Shri award conferred to Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan as a Mumbai court had framed charges against him. Now, The NDA Government is examining the demand to strip the actor of the prestigious award.
In February 2012, Saif Ali Khan and two of his friends (Shakeel Ladak, Bilal Amrohi) had manhandled a South African businessman and his father-in-law at Colaba hotel in Mumbai. Cases under sections 325 (assault) and 34 (common intention) of IPC has been booked against the trio.
As the charges levelled against Saif were likely to be proven right, Union Government has taken the demand of RTI Activist very seriously and the actor might lose the award if he was proven guilty in the court.
In the Year 2010, Saif Ali Khan was conferred with Padma Shri by the government for his contribution to the Indian Cinema.
