Bollywood star Salman Khan's 2002 hit-and-run case came up for hearing on Monday.
Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said Salman's Driver Ashok Kumar is a liar and admitted to have committed the crime only to save the actuall accused. He went on to say the statements and behaviour of Mr. Kumar were unnatural & unacceptable.
Pradeep Gharat brushed aside the claim of Defence Lawyer that Salman's Toyota Land Cruiser met with an accident due to skidding. "Salman's car has tyres with more width than other tyres. It can run on muddy, uneven and on stones as well. So, Chances of skidding is remote," he told the court.
The Public Prosecutor accused Salman's Driver of not answering crucial questions posed by him during the cross-examination. He questioned why Salman Khan is facing the trail since 12 years if he wasn't an accused and why did he continue Ashok Kumar as his driver during the same period if the accident was caused by him.
