Sonal Chauhan mainly appears in Telugu and Hindi films. She made her Bollywood debut in 2008 with the film Jannat. In the same year, she acted in her first Telugu movie, Rainbow. She also entered the Kannada film industry with Cheluveye Ninne Nodalu. Later, she made her Tamil debut with Inji Iduppazhagi.
In 2005, she won the Miss World Tourism title in Malaysia. She was a Miss India contestant and became the first Indian to win this title. Before acting, she worked as a model in Delhi. She appeared in advertisements for brands like Ponds and Nokia. She was also featured on the cover of FHM magazine.
She gained more fame with her role in Adipurush. This mythological 3D film was directed by Om Raut. The movie starred Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdutta Nage. The music was composed by Ankit Balhara, Sanchit Balhara, Ajay Gogavale, and Atul Gogavale. Karthik Palani handled the cinematography. The film was edited by Ashish Mhatre and Apurva Motiwale. It was produced by Bhushan Kumar under T-Series Films and UV Creations.
Her latest film was Dard. This 2024 psychological romantic thriller was directed by Anonno Mamun. The film was a joint production between Bangladesh and India. Kamal Mohammad Kibria Lipu, Ashok Dhanuka, Himanshu Dhanuka and Karan Shah produced it.
