AP was under President Rule when former PM Narasimha rao was holding the reigns of the state around mid-70 s and the reason was demand for separate andhrapradesh. Due to Law & Order issue for Jai Andhra Agitation, 11 Jan 1973 10 Dec 1973 president rule was imposed

During President's Rule, the Governor has the authority to appoint retired civil servants or other administrators, to assist him. These advisors assume the functions of State's Council of Ministers.

Surprisingly both times president was rule imposed for regional differences in the state .Other side Indications are that the Assembly elections will be held along with the general elections in April-May this year
