Ban imposed on Vishwaroopam

In an attempt to pacify the Muslim organizations, the Tamilnadu government has banned Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam for two weeks citing law and order problems.
Orders have been passed to district collectors to restrict the theatre owners from screening the film by invoking prohibitory orders under Section 144 of Cr PC.
Representatives of 24 Muslim organizations and political parties met Home Secretary demanding stern action against the film alleging that it is aimed at tarnishing Islam and Muslims. The decision to ban was taken after Chief Minister Jayalalitha's high-level meeting with senior officials on Wednesday night.
Kamal was in US awaiting the release of his film when the government announced this decision. Every time this legendary actor comes up with an ambitious project, it's bound to stir controversy. Still, Kamal never fears to experiment and do things which are out of the box.
