Big Blow for Jayalalitha in SC
X
In a setback for Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, the Supreme Court dismissed her appeal against prosecution on trial proceedings against her in a disproportionate assets case.A disproportionate assets case was registered on Jayalalitha few years before and it was shifted to Bangalore following a Supreme Court directive on a petition which alleged that a fair trial was not possible in Chennai during her tenure as Chief Minister.

Recently Jaya filed petition requesting stay on the final judgment but the SC has declined it giving way to banglore court to announce final verdict tomorrow. Jayalalitha faces charges of accumulating assets worth over Rs 66 crore that were disproportionate to her known sources of income.

AS final judgement is due to tomorrow security was tightened at Chennai to avoid unlawful events. More than one lakh police deployed to secure law and order if the verdict pronounced opposite to Jaya.Other side several AIADMK Ministers, MLAs, senior party functionaries and cadres have been making travel arrangements plans to be present near the court premises on Saturday as a show of support to the party supremo when the crucial judgment is delivered. If the verdict came opposite to Jaya it will be a big sensation in Tamilnadu politics
