Centre has ruined our hopes: AP CM
By: Tupaki Desk | 1 March 2015 7:35 AM GMTAP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu came down heavily on the NDA Government for the first time ever while responding on the ill-treatment meted out to the state when it comes to Union Budget 2015. He complains Union Budget has ruined all the hopes and people of AP were completely letdown. He also faults 14th Finance Commission for not addressing the needs of residuary AP. "Centre has neither addressed the demand for Special status nor given a clarity on special fund for the backward region. No assurance has been given on Industrial incentives as well and even Special Railway Zone for AP in Visakha was denied. Just Rs 100 crore was allotted for Polavaram project. We are in a dire situation. We lack a capital city," he says.
Naidu, however, appreciates Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for addressing all sections of people, focusing on investments and infrastructure, and a strong stand to curb black money.
The Chief Minister reiterates its the responsibility of Centre to level-playing field and provide financial assistance by bringing Andhra Pradesh.
