Defamation case filed against Anjali

Tamil director Kalanjiyam on Tuesday filed a defamation case against Anjali over her controversial remarks accusing him of harassing her along with her aunt Bharathi Devi and using her like an ATM.
Actually, the case was lodged by the Tamil outfit 'Tamizhar Nalam Periyakkam' headed by Kalanjiyam before the Judicial magistrate II on charges that the remarks made by the actress had hurt the sentiments of his followers. The filmmaker seeked stern action against Anjali under sections 499, 500 and 505 of IPC. The case has been posted to May 13th.
Anjali is yet to wrap up the shoot of Kalanjiyam's flick 'Oor Sutri Puranam' which is currently on the sets. She hasn't turned up for the shoot on April 24th. Kalanjiyam had complained against the actress in directors associations and Nadigar Sangam, but the issue hasn't been resolved until now. Finally, the filmmaker choose to proceed legally and the defamation suit is an attempt to force Anjali to come for a compromise.
