Delhi Gang-Rape verdict: Girl Mother shattered!

After the judgement in the Delhi-Rape case, The mother of the girl Nirbhaya who was brutally raped by six men in a moving bus demanded punishment based on crime, not age.
One of the accused in the case who is just few months short of 18 years of age only gets a punishment of 3 years at a correctional home if he is convicted. This has shattered the parents of the brave-heart girl.
Nirbhaya's Mother questioned: 'How could I live knowing that the killers of my daughter are still alive? I appeal to the courts to punish the accused on the basis of crime he committed, not his age. His crime is on par with the other five accused, then how can he get away with lead punishment?'.
Nirbhaya's parents urged for death penalty for all the six accused and appealed to treat juvenile too as an adult as the nature of the crime is serious.
Our laws have come under scanner with the first verdict in the Delhi rape case. There is need to bring reforms and send a clear message that serious crimes like rape or murder will have maximum punishment irrespective of the age of the convicted.
