Devi Prasad quits job to turn as MLC

Telangana NGOs Associations’ leader Devi Prasad quits the job to contest as MLC.Devi Prasad who hailed from Medak has been working as assistant technical officer in the Irrigation department in Medak district. Devi Prasad resigned to his job today to join active politics.
As per reports KCR offered him MLC seat and he has asked him to contest in the MLC elections on TRS ticket under graduate’s quota. Since, the government employees can’t contest in any elections, he resigned to his job.
Earlier devi Prasad eyed on Medak Lok Sabha seat, which was vacated by TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao but failed to get the ticket from TRS. At that time Devi Prasad admitted that he was an aspirant for the ticket and was disappointed for not getting the same.
Devi Prasad was backed by the Telangana government employees, who played a key role in the Telangana movement.He is the second person from the employees’ unions to contest MLC elections. Earlier Swamy Goud contested MLC elections and he became Chairman of Telangana legislative council. Another leader Srinivas Goud also won as MLA after joining TRS.
