Exclusive: TDP Action Plan @ Farm Loan Waiver!
By: Tupaki Desk | 5 July 2014 2:11 PM GMTThe biggest task ahead for TDP Government is to fulfill its biggest poll promise - Farm Loan Waiver. What's the action plan of Naidu to implement it?
Sources say, CM Chandrababu Naidu came up with the proposal of waive Rs 1 lakh for each farmer's family just like the TRS Governmnet. However, Cabinet Ministers objected it saying it would put them in trouble as they haven't mentioned about the amount during the campaigning. Instead, They advised Naidu to waive upto Rs 1.5 lakh per each family so that they could effectively counter the criticism from YSR Congress.
As per estimates, Each farmer would take Rs 25,000 loan per acre and most of the farmers in AP have less than 6 acres. So, Rs 1.5 lakhs offered by TDP Government will waive 100% of the loan amount to
majority of the farmers.
Actually, Naidu wishes to waive loan upto Rs 1.5 lakhs whether its farm loan or gold loan. It will cost the exchequer to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore.
Hence, Chandrababu has decided to pay the first installment (Rs 75,000) per each family to banks within the next few months. The farmers themselves have to pay the remaining amount if there is any and TDP Government will pay the other 50% in the next 1 or 2 years to them. TDP Leadership finds this as a best option in the current situation.
