Farmer hangs himself at AAP Rally

Gajendra Singh, a farmer from Dausa in Rajasthan, committed suicide at the Aam Aadmi Party's ant-Land Bill rally at Jantar Mantar on Wednesday. He hung himself from a tree branch in full public view and he was declared brougt dead after being rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia (RMLA) Hospital. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was present at the rally when the incident took place.
In the suicide note, Mr. Singh stated he took the extreme step as he had been turned out of his house by his father due to a poor harvest this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased and gave assurance to the farmers that Centre will extend every possible support to them. "Gajendra's death has saddened the Nation. We are all deeply shattered & disappointed. Condolences to his family. At no point must the hardworking farmer think he is alone. We are all together in creating a better tomorrow for the farmers of India," he said.
