Ganguly joins BJP

BJP party managed to get the hold of another noted celebrity. Well known TV Actress Roopa Ganguly on Wednesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Roopa Ganguly, famous for her Draupadi role in the TV series "Mahabharat".
She joined the party in the presence of Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. Jaitley handed over the party flag to Ganguly, formally inducting her into the BJP fold.
Apart from Mahabharat Ganguly is recognized for her roles in films like "Padma Nadir Majhi" "Yugant" and "Antarmahala" .She has also received the National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for the Bengali film "Abosheshey" in 2012.
Roopais the second noted celebrity to join BJP in recent times from Bengal.Bollywood singer Babul Supriyo joined BJP and became an MP .
