Hidden string of fee reimbursement scheme in TG

Seems the bifurcation paved way for one more issue. Yesterday Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao has declared that his government cannot afford to reimburse the fees of all the students studying in Telangana which will cost approximately 2500 Crores per year. KCR has announced that he may reimburse the fees of only those students who belong to Telangana.

KCR said they have decided to pay the arrears towards the reimbursement of tuition fee of students pursuing various courses including professional courses. He also said that the State government would reimburse the fees of students belonging to Telangana State irrespective of their place of study.

But here comes the big twist in the story. According to sources the payment will be made after scrutiny of the birth certificates.

While paying the fees Telangana government will not be considering the nativity of students rather than they will consider the nativity of student’s father. So, a student born in Telangana may not get the benefits of fee reimbursement if his father is a settler in Telangana. If the will implemented several settler families in telangana will suffer.

Looks like government is trying to take off as much as burden of its shoulders .The annual burden on state exchequer in the undivided state was over Rs.5,000 crore
