Hyderabadi Sensation becomes World No.1

Indian badminton star Sainal Nehwal has become World No.1 after defeating Carolina Marin in Indian Open. She achieved this feat even before the Semi Final of Indian Open against Japan's Yui Hashimoto.
Saina Nehwal is the first Indian woman to reach such a milestone. Most importantly, She will remain as No.1 in World Badminton irrespective of the result in the Semis.
It was only Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone's father Prakash Padukone who became World No.1 Men's Badminton Player.
President Pranab Mukherjee congratulates Sainal Nehwal for making the Indian Flag fly high. "Congrats Saina Nehwal on becoming World no 1 in Badminton; well deserved honour; best wishes for Indian Open Semi Final #President Mukherjee," he wrote.
