IIT Madras Bans student group for criticizing Modi

According to sources IIT Madras has banned Ambedkar Periyar Student Circle, a discussion forum for SC/ST students to promote the ideology and writings of BR Ambedkar and Periyar EV Ramasamy.
Based on an anonymous complaint stating students are spreading hatred against Modi and his policies, HRD department decided to ban the group and passed the same to University. Following HRD decision, IIT director forwarded the copy of Ministry and issued ban notice on the group.
Meanwhile the ban on the student group ignited a political storm in Delhi and protests against Union Education Minister Smriti Irani today.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's office also responded on the incident and vowed to fight it.
