Indian Railways earn Rs 1 lakh crore in 7 Months

Indian Railways collected a revenue of Rs 1,00,622 crore during April-November 2014. This is a sharp increase when compared to the earnings during the same period in 2013. Between April-November 2013, Indian Raiways earned Rs 89,341.26 crore and that's Rs 11,280 crore more than that of 2014 revenue.
As per statistics, Indian Railways carried 713.11 million tonnes (an increase of 5.24 percent from 2013) of freight traffic in the past 7 months.
Modi Government has took measures to improve sanitation in the Railway Stations and Trains. About 50 key stations across the Country were included in the Cleanliness Drive which began on October 2nd. Even WiFi service is available at New Delhi Railway Station and the same will be implemented in other stations in phased manner. Centre is open to FDI's in Railway Sector to raise the standards. Bio Toilets which are environmental friendly is the top priority of the Government.
