India's Richest Woman loses Poll Battle

Savitri Jindal who is India's richest woman got defeated in Haryana General Elections 2014. She lost to BJP Candidate Kamal Gupta by a margin of 13,646 votes in Hisar assembly constituency.

Apparently, Savitri Jindal won from Hisar assembly segment in 2005 and 2009 Assembly polls. She also served as Minister in the outgoing Congress Government during her second term as MLA.

Notably, Savitri is the mother of Indian Billionaire and Politician Naveen Jindal. Forbes has named her as country's richest woman in the year 2008 and she retained the top position in the October 2014 issue as well. Savitri is ranked 12th among India's richest list which include Mukesh Ambani, Lakshmi Mittal, Anil Ambani and KP Singh.
