Political circles are busy stressing that Megastar Union Minister K Chiranjeevi is going to be declared as the Chief Minister candidate of Congress in 2014. Is this move a perfect one for the future of Congress in state?
Ever since Chiru has become union minister, his image has doubled in Congress circles and so are his enemies. If Chiru is declared as the political face of Congress in state, then there are chances that few groups might revolt against this. CM post aspirants like Jana Reddy, Sashidar Reddy and DL Ravindra Reddy may cut their support to Congress and work for a different party in the background. Reports have that a delegation from Telangana region is already in Delhi to oppose this move of Congress.
Political observers say that this is a suicidal move for Congress to declare Chiru as probable CM of Andhra Pradesh if at all Cong scores a win in 2014. Rather this, party should make him CM if Congress gets majority in the elections.
