The NDA Government on Tuesday granted Special Category Status to residuary Andhra Pradesh for the next 5 yard with effect from June 8th, 2014. The Planning Commission will officially announce this decision in a day or two.
Benefits of Special Category status:
1) Flow of funds in big scale
2) Tax Holidays to Industries
3) Excise Duty concessions
4) 30% of Centre's budget support for Plan Expenditure
5) 90% of Plan Assistance as Grants and only 10% in the form of Loans.
