Sharmila reddy first hit the news headlines after she took up campaigning on behalf of the YSR Congress Party along with her mother Smt. Y.S. Vijayamma in the absence of her brother for the by-elections held in June 2012 in the united Andhra Pradesh state. The YSR Congress Party then won 15 of the 18 assembly seats for which the by-elections were held.People saw a new young politician in Sharmila during the campaign for the by-elections
Many thought that YS Sharmila will contest in general elections but nothing was happened. She moved out from the party activities after Jagan came out of Jail.She was not appeared anywhere in political arena after the debacle of YSRCP.Now the sudden decision of Sharmila is raising many doubts.
It was rumored in political circles that Sharmila was disappointed with the decision of his brother to keep away from her contesting elections.
