Jaswanth Singh Suffers Head Injury
By: Tupaki Desk | 8 Aug 2014 8:48 AM GMTFormer BJP leader and Union minister Jaswant Singh suffered a head injury on Thursday and has been admitted to the ICU of Army Research and Referral Hospital.The 76-year-old former defense minister fell down at his residence around 11pm on Thursday night following which he was rushed to the hospital.
Right now he is under the observation of neurosurgeons and critical care specialists. A senior doctor at the hospital said on Friday that Singh has been operated upon for head injury and he is in a critical condition in the ICU.
Jaswanth Singh served as External Affairs and Finance Minister and he was expelled from the BJP early this year after he decided to contest the Lok Sabha polls against party wish.
He was expelled from party after he refused to withdraw his candidature as an independent candidate from Barmer in Rajasthan ahead of Lok Sabha polls.Singh had lost Lok Sabha elections against the BJP's Col. Sonaram Choudhary.
BJP top leader LK Advani has met Jaswant Singh's family after the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Jawanth family members on phone and expressed hope for his fast recovery.
