The disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jaya Lalitha that took nearly 18 years to deliver its final statement. Today the Special Court in Bangalore had convicted Jaya in this case. Witnessed four full-time judges before it landed in the hands during this time.

Due to this verdict Jaya is under threat to loose CM post. Already many AIADMK leaders are started protesting against the verdict across Tamilnadu.

District court ordered to enquirey in this case
FIR filed on Jaya and investigation completed in a year. Charge sheet filed in 1997
Conviction process started on Jaya, Shashikala, Sudhakaran, Ilavarasi in October 1997
In 2002 Jayalalitha became CM of Tamilnadu
Witnesses are examined from 2002 to 2003 February,
Anbhumani approached court in 2003 February for transparency in this case.
SC transferred this case to Bangalore Special court in 2013 November.
SC approved for conviction in 2010
Jaya became Cm again in 2011.
JayaLalitha attended court twice during conviction in October and November.
In 2012 G.Bhavanisingh was appointed as Public prosecutor.
Anbhumani approached court on Bhavanisingh appointment, Karnataka government replaced him on this complaint.
Bhavanisingh approached SC on this replacement.
Main judge Balakrishna retired in 2013.
Michael John appointed as new Judge in 2013 September. Conviction process completed in August 2014
jaya approached SC to stop its verdict
SC rejected Jayalalitha request and finalized September 27th for its verdict.
In Parappana Agrahara Special court located.
Sheela Balakrishnan has the chances for become CM after Jaya.
