Maharashtra’s newest chief minister Devendra Fadnavis stunned his fellow passengers by travelling in economy class.On Sunday afternoon, the passengers in Mumbai airport were pleasantly surprised to find Devendra and his family.Devendra Fadnavis, his wife and daughter were traveling back to his home town Nagpur after the swearing in.
Devendra Fadnavis-took an economy class flight In an attempt to cut maximum possible costs to the government,He took the Jet Airways flight, bypassing the chartered flights and also paid for his own tickets. His co-passengers were delighted with him and thronged fro autographs.
The chief minister has gone on a two-day trip to Nagpur, his hometown, on Sunday, his maiden visit after assuming the top job in the state.This measure of austerity comes close on the heels of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's diktat that that the ministers and bureaucrats should shun ostentation and cut down unnecessary expenditure. Indeed a great gesture from the young leader.
