Monorail stops halfway, 11 Passengers rescued!
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 March 2015 12:14 PM GMTThe services of Mumbai Monorail has been disrupted on Sunday due to power failure near Bhakti Par in Wadala area. All the 11 passengers were trapped inside for some time. Rescue Team has been rushed to the spot and the passengers were rescued.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered an inquiry into the incident. "Looking into Mumbai Monorail breakdown incident. Appointed Principal Secretary (Urban Development) to immediately initiate an enquiry," he reacted.
Mumbai Monorail which is the first of its kind service in the country came operational between Wadala Depot and Chembur in February 2014. This project was implemented by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in association with a private firm.
