A day after the case was filed following the incident where Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani spotted a hidden camera in the trail room of a store belonging to a popular fashion brand at Candolim in Goa, Fabindia made it clear there were no hidden cameras anywhere in the store and the camera everyone has been talking about is just a part of the surveillance system.

Fabindia: "We would like to convey our apologies to the Honourable Minister Smriti Irani for the inconvenience that has been inadvertently caused. The camera in question at Condolim-Goa store was a part of the surveillance system at the store and was installed in the shopping area. There were no hidden cameras anywhere in the store, including the trial rooms. These cameras are in full public view and the fact that surveillance cameras are installed is prominently displayed in all the stores".

The Company claimed its a women-centric organization with 70% of the working staff across the country is women. It even appointed an 3-member investigation team to deal with the hidden camera issue.

On the other hand, An FIR has been registered and four employees have been arrested. They were granted bail by the court on Saturday. Cops informed the Court that accused had viewed the captured images.
