Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is firm on his "below 75 years" rule while choosing the leaders for his cabinet.
Apparently, Modi denied Cabinet Berth to party senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi based on the age factor. Mr. Joshi is among the Big Four in the last BJP Government.
In fact, Narendra Modi preferred 8-time MP Sumitra Mahajan as the Lok Sabha speaker instead of party senior LK Advani. Ms Mahajan is the longest serving woman parliamentarian.
Narendra Modi choose a 34-member cabinet (18 Cabinet Rank, 16 Minister of State). He also decided to keep the Defense Ministry with himself.
