No space for ANR Statue in Hyderabad

The Movie Artistes Association (MAA) has took up the mission to install the statue of Akkineni Nageswara Rao who breathed his last in January this year. However, MAA is finding it tough to identify a spot/junction without any statues as most of places in the city have been occupied by the idols of NT Rama Rao, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, P Janardhan Reddy and other noted personality.

MAA President Murali Mohan revealed the association has planned to install the statue of ANR in Film Nagar area as more than 70% of the film fraternity resides there. He, however, accepts the fact that finding the suitable spot has become the most difficult job. Hence, MAA will be meeting GHMC Officials soon to appeal them to identify a suitable space for the statue.

Actually, Supreme Court issued an order to all the states in January 2013 to ban the statues on public roads, pavements and other public utility places. However, the illegal installation of statues have been continuing.
