NTRs Statue Unveiled PM Steals The Show
By: Tupaki Desk | 7 May 2013 6:22 AM GMTFinally after lot of criticism and delay, statue of Telugu peoples’ pride N T Ramarao got unveiled in parliament today due to some honest efforts put by his daughter Purandareswari. Loksabha speaker Meera Kumar inaugurated the statue of NTR at 10.30 am today at parliament entrance gate with all the bigwigs of country’s political circuit making it to the occasion.
While Loksabha speaker unveiled NTR’s idol, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh happens to be the Chief Guest of the event. Along with him Cong leaders including Megastar Chiru, Sushil Shinde, Ghulam Azad, Kapil Sibal, Jaipal Reddy attended the event. Other opposition and ruling party leaders including LK Advani, Mulayam Singh, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Seetharam Echuri made their presence felt. Nandamuri family members including NTR’s widow Lakshmi Parvathi, sons Balakrishna, Harikrishna, Mohankrsihna, Jayakrishna, daughter Purandareswari, Bhuvaneswari and his hitech son-in-law Chandrababu, along with Jr NTR and Kalyanram attended the occasion.
However what shocked TDP cadres and their boss Chandrababu is the presence of Prime Minster Manmohan Singh. Though Naidu tried to project this event big by pressurizing Congress leaders to extend him an invitation, he got no attention at the event due to PM’s surprise presence. To sign off, erecting NTR’s statue in parliament premises is surely a great honour for the legendary actor and for Telugu people too.
