Power Tariff hike: AP Govt to spare the POOR!

Reportedly, Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission indicated 10 percent power tariff hike. However, Most of the Ministers opposed it during the cabinet meeting on Monday. Most probably, The hike will be anywhere around 6 percent.
For the financial year 2015-16, AP have to meet the demand of 58,191 million units of power and the total expenditure for its production is expected to be Rs 30,300 crore. The revenue from Utilities is estimated to be Rs 22,592 crore and hence there is a gap of Rs 7,726 crore. Power Tariff Hike is meant to bridge this huge gap and it helps AP Government continue to provide 24*7 electricity supply!
