A 70 year-old Chennai businessman has been awarded Rs 20 lakh as compensation from Lufthansa airlines on orders of State Consumer Redressal Commission. When we went into details it revealed that the Chennai person Shiv Prakash Goenka who booked a ticket in Business class for his travel to Germany was allocated economic class in the last minute. Even after his prior booking of the ticket the airlines failed to provide triggered Shiv Prakash to reach the court.

The issue which took place in 2010 when Shiv Prakash While returning from Frankfurt, a member of the flight crew directed him to occupy a seat in the economy class. In regards to this action The airline staff gave him a compensation voucher for euros 1,500. Prakash who stunned with airlines act sought a refund of `2.54 lakh, the cost of the ticket, and compensation of `95 lakh for causing him humiliation and mental agony. But Lufthansa argued that Shiv Prakash has accepted the compensation voucher for €1500 at the time of check-in. IN case investigation and analysis Mr Prakash succeeded in convincing the court the situation what he faced while accepting this compensations. He stated he had no option other than traveling back to India on the specified date forced him to accept that offer.
