In a surprise development, noted actor Sanjay Dutt has seeked Supreme Court few more weeks to surrender.

In March this year, Supreme Court sentenced Sanjay to five years in jail for illegal possession of arms during the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. He was asked to surrender on or before April 18 to serve the remaining three-and-half years imprisonment. The actor earlier spent 18 months in prison in three different spells.

Over 200 people were killed in the 1993 bombings in Mumbai. However, Dutt claimed that he isn't aware of plot of serial blasts and he acquired fire arms to protect his family after receiving threats during Mumbai's communal riots.

Sanjay Dutt is desperately trying to complete the shootings of all his current project before he surrenders and also wishes to spend some quality time with his family. That's the reason behind his fresh petition seeking extension!
