Secret of Vadra case affidavit records: PMO
X
Prime Minister Office denied showing the affidavit record which filed case in Allahabad High court on Son-in-law of Congress Chief Sonia, Robert regarding the Vadra land disputes. They said that
it is confidential and from the right to information act there is a law of exemption for this. Lucknow RTI officer Nutan Tagore filed a petition to Lucknow bench last year to investigate on illegal transactions between Vadra and DLF Company. But court cancelled that case because government argued that petition was filed based on stories in media. PMO mentioned in its affidavit that petitioner allegations didn’t have any proper reasons. That’s why Tagore asked to give the notes of affidavit. PMO said they can’t give that since case is in progress. But Tagore responded that affidavit should not be given only when court mentioned not to reveal. So PMO referred to Supreme Court’s judgement in the past that affidavit was confidential. They also clarified that under RTI section 8.1.E there is an exemption in this case in revealing the affidavit records.
