Despite playing a key role in Telangana formation, Congress managed to win just 21-odd MLA seats in the recent elections. Coming to the Council, the Congress with its strength is confident of bagging the chairman and vice-chairman’s posts. Names of former PCC president D. Srinivas and Md. Ali Shabbir are doing the rounds. It is understood that Mr. Srinivas has expressed reluctance to hold the chairman’s post.
