Sunrisers posing threat to Tollywood

Off late, IPL Hyderabad Franchise 'Sunrisers' is giving sleepless nights to the Tollywood folks. The dream run of Sunrisers in the sixth edition of Indian Premier League is the reason behind the misery of actors and filmmakers.
Apparently, 'Sunrisers' stands on top of the points table with 5 wins out of 7 matches. As a result, Telugus were preferring to watch the IPL matches rather than spending time in theatres during the hot Summer. The occupancy for evening shows have come down drastically ever since the start of IPL 6 April 2nd.
These days, Films don't run for 100 days or 50 days or at least more than one month. The window is just 2 weeks and 4 weeks respectively for a super hit and blockbuster film. Even the big stars are concentrations on the figures of first two itself and it's pretty hard to draw the audience to theatres after that! That's the reason behind planning theatrical release with 1000-plus screens as it's the best option to pocket as much as the film can in a short period.
