T-MPs demanded United AP: CM Kiran
By: Tupaki Desk | 23 Jan 2014 4:04 AM GMTCM Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday began his speech on T-Bill in Assembly by saying its unfortunate for him to be chief minister at this point off time. He also opposed the AP Re-organisation Bill in the Assembly.
Kiran asserted Andhra Pradesh was formed with the full support of Hyderabad state MPs and went on to say there is no truth in the version that Telangana region was forcefully merged. "Hyderabad MPs supported United AP as they believed farmers will be benefited only if Godavari and Krishna rivers were in the same state. All of them agreed Hyderabad is the best place to be capital of Visalandhra state," he reminded.
The chief minister also pointed out the quotes from Indira Gandhi's speech in Parliament in the year 1972: "There is no state in the country without backwardness. Division isn't a solution for the problem. It's just the beginning of a much bigger problem."
